**Coastal Smith River Retreat with Ocean Views & Artist Studio** Experience the peaceful beauty of coastal living in this custom-built, one-owner Smith River home, ideally located just 10 minutes from Brookings, Oregon. Set on a beautiful, tranquil 1.51 acre parcel with a paved circular driveway, this unique ranch-style residence was custom built in 1977 for a well-known artist and offers a rare blend of coastal charm, creative space, and opportunity. Hear the soothing sound of ocean waves from the spacious rear deck and take in lovely ocean views and spectacular sunsets from the bright sunroom. Large windows throughout the home fill the interior with natural light while offering views from time to time of elk grazing in the pasture below. The home features 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an inviting step-saver kitchen that flows naturally into the dining and living room areas —creating an easy, comfortable space for both everyday living and entertaining. The property retains much of its original character and is ready for updates in select areas, offering the next owner an opportunity to bring their own style, finishes, and vision. The attached 3 car garage offers extra space plus indoor parking for your vehicles. There is room to park an RV or a boat too. With its quality construction, thoughtful layout, and exceptional coastal setting, this home has the potential to become a true coastal showplace. Some upgrades include an updated kitchen, and a ductless heat pump system installed in the main living area and lovely laminate flooring throughout the home. A standout feature is the spacious attached but separate artist studio, complete with a half-bath, abundant cabinetry and shelving, generous counter space, and a monitor heater. Whether you're a painter, crafter, collector, or simply need a dedicated creative workspace, this inspiring space adds tremendous versatility and reflects the home's unique artistic history. The expansive, nicely fenced backyard provides plenty of room for gardening, recreation, pets, or animals. The property may offer potential for horses or other livestock; maybe an ADU or Vacation Rental unit to generate some income... buyers are encouraged to verify allowable uses and requirements with the appropriate local building and planning authorities. A magnificent eucalyptus tree adds beauty and character, while the grounds are thoughtfully laid out for relatively easy maintenance. The location is truly special. Wander through the meadow toward views of Prince Island, pause to listen to the surf, or explore the nearby miles of sandy coastline and beaches. With its ocean views, peaceful setting, spacious artist studio, and room to create something truly your own, this distinctive Smith River property offers a wonderful opportunity for those seeking a coastal residence, creative retreat, or special place to call home.
